Our Story
Every child deserves a place where they feel safe, seen, and supported.
At Webb Youth Services, we believe education should be a space where kids can thrive—not just academically, but emotionally and creatively. Since 2020, we have worked to remove financial barriers for children and teens in Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven counties, funding vital programs in music, art, martial arts, dance, and academic enrichment. Because when children are given the opportunity to explore their passions, their confidence and sense of self grow.
But we knew we needed to do more.
In 2023, we launched Webb Youth Services Education (WYSE), a middle school designed for students who need an alternative to traditional learning environments. Many of our students have struggled in their previous schools—due to lack of resources, unsupportive environments, or rigid structures that don’t accommodate their unique learning styles. WYSE provides them with a safe, affirming, and individualized education experience, where creativity and curiosity are nurtured, and every child is celebrated for who they are.
For Student A, a 12-year-old transgender girl, WYSE became the first place where she felt truly accepted. She went from feeling anxious and unseen in her previous school to flourishing as an artist and rekindling her love of learning.
For Student B, who was selectively mute when he arrived at WYSE, the supportive environment helped him find his voice. Today, he communicates verbally and is thriving academically.
WYSE is not just a school—it’s a lifeline for students who need an environment where they can grow into their best selves.
Every dollar raised through Give Local directly funds scholarships for children in financial need, ensuring that cost never stands in the way of a child’s ability to learn in a place where they are valued and empowered.
