Prime Time House, Inc.
Our Story
For the past 37 years, Prime Time House has been a beacon of hope for individuals with mental illness in Northwest Connecticut. With a focus on empowering members to lead fulfilling and healthy lives, Prime Time House offers a supportive environment that fosters independence, skill development, and a strong sense of belonging. As a result of chronic mental health issues, our members' lives are significantly disrupted. Many have lost their jobs, dropped out of school, experienced homelessness, were alienated from families and friends, and ended up alone.
Our legacy social rehabilitation (Clubhouse) program has a positive reputation as here we promote recovery, build friendships, and equip members with the tools needed to achieve their needs and meet their goals. A typical day includes:
- transportation
runs to get members to the Clubhouse
- meetings
to coordinate and plan activities such as holiday events, dances,
recreation activities
- preparation
and clean-up of daily lunch
- running
our food pantry
- conducting
wellness programs including therapeutic art, yoga, and exercise classes
Our Supportive Housing Programs provide intensive case management to address today's competitive rental market to find and secure safe and affordable housing that predominantly impacts those in Northwest Connecticut who struggle with mental health and/or substance abuse. Our programs include the Next Steps Housing of Litchfield and the Homeless to Housing (H2H) Program. Participation in these programs leads to:
- improved
health outcomes
- reduced
healthcare costs
- increased
employment
- a
lower likelihood of recidivism to homelessness
- promotes
social inclusion. reduces crime, and fosters a more compassionate
community
In December 2024, Prime Time House and The Connection embarked on a strategic partnership, a significant step that amplifies our collective impact on the community. The affiliation between Prime Time House and The Connection is a testament to our strategic planning and commitment to growth and is built on a foundation of mission alignment. Both organizations believe in empowering individuals to reach their full potential and lead productive, independent, and fulfilling lives. This partnership will allow Prime Time House to benefit from The Connection's broad array of programs and services, including permanent supportive housing, homeless outreach, and behavioral health services., while retaining its name and location. Funds raised will be used exclusively for our programs, ensuring our core services and activities remain intact.
With the strain on our budget due to the volatility of energy, electricity, and food prices, your support during Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills is greatly needed and appreciated. With a goal of raising $15,000, we plan to enhance the budget for our food pantry, daily nutritious lunches, housing support, and vocational assistance. Your support will bring hope to all in our care, especially during these challenging times. With a growing need for mental health-related programs in our community, your investment in Prime Time House will help ensure that our campus is a safe and accessible place for all who need our care. It will help us create new holistic wellness programs and expand case management services to support those homeless or at risk of homelessness. We will continue to develop the agency's visibility and grow partnerships to ensure we meet our members' needs.
