Litchfield Performing Arts
Our Story
The mission of Litchfield Performing Arts is to bring together a racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse group of people working together towards a common goal. That goal is educating and inspiring young people to be confident, creative, expressive individuals through challenging programs in jazz music and the performing arts, and to share the passion and magic of the arts with the wider community.
Litchfield Jazz Camp has been educating some 300 students every summer since 1997. 20% - 25% of whom receive need-based scholarships. LJC is a non-competitive program taught by an all-star faculty. Many campers garner college scholarships, go on to professional careers and return to us to teach and perform.
Give Local provides our last big push this year to support Litchfield Jazz Campers in financial need this summer. We have received 32 requests for aid for summer 2025. We are still $30,000 short of the $70,000 we need to provide need-based support for all these students.
MORE THAN DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!
We have the opportunity to raise an additional $15,000 - BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Tom Cramer & Michele Burger have generously pledged to match the first $10,000 raised, dollar for dollar - $10,000 = $20,000!! BUT WAIT, THERES MORE! If 100 or more people donate (any amount), Tom and Michele will donate AN ADDITIONAL $5,000! If you have ever considered a gift to support Litchfield Jazz, now is the time! Check out the leader boards at the bottom of the page for the progress.
Our objective is to make the Litchfield experience accessible for ALL students. To this end, we offer full and partial scholarships based on financial need. With the help of people like you, we have not had to turn away a single student in need in all our 28 years.
